About

Henri Fitzwilliam-Lay has always worked in a creative field, she started in New York City as a fashion stylist for some of the top department stores and magazines such as ELLE and then graduated into art direction managing photo shoots and layouts for renown stores like Bergdorf Goodman, Brooks Brothers and Bloomingdales.  This set her up for her next move to the United Kingdom and interior design.

Looking at spaces and seeing their potential is key to all her projects. HFL limited was established in 2004 designing, directing and implementing interiors for residential houses. She enjoys transforming a home and collections of objects into a cohesive story. β€œIt is all about a careful edit, looking for inspiration everywhere and never dismissing things out of hand.”

HFL advises from concept through to completion, on all aspects of the design process. Often working with architects she consults on layouts, finishes, lighting and ironmongery. Sourcing new and vintage furniture as well as designing and commissioning bespoke pieces

Collaborating with a group of trusted craftsmen Henri personally oversees the whole process. HFL creates a style by combining old with new so that the finished project can never be dated. "I want a client's house to relate back to them, to be recognizable as their home yet also aspirational - to be the very best of them."
